Best Provably Fair Poker Rooms

Only four rooms in our database carry a provably fair flag, and they don't all prove the same thing. Three of them also run casinos, so read each room's own wording rather than the label alone.

The principle is a commitment. Before the hand starts, the room fixes the shuffle and publishes a fingerprint of it, called a hash. A hash can't be reversed, so the fingerprint reveals nothing about the cards, but it also can't be changed afterwards without the match failing.

After the hand, the room reveals the secret seed it used. You run the same calculation and compare your result with the fingerprint you saw earlier. If they match, the deck was fixed before anyone acted and wasn't adjusted during play.

BCPoker's published mechanism follows this pattern with a per-hand keypair, an HmacSHA256 hash and a seed reveal. Other rooms may use different methods, so read each one's documentation.

Larger rooms such as GGPoker and Natural8 aren't flagged provably fair in our data. They ask you to trust their licence and their own systems, and you can't replay a shuffle yourself. A provably fair room reverses that: you check one hand at a time and need to trust the operator less on the deal.

It's a trade, not an upgrade. The licences on the four rooms here are Anjouan or Curaçao, which are lighter regulators than the UK Gambling Commission or the Malta Gaming Authority. If dispute handling matters to you more than checking the shuffle, a regulated room may suit you better.

Pick the check you'll actually use. If you never open a hand history, a published shuffle gives you little, and traffic, rakeback and cashout speed should drive the choice.

The exact screens differ by room, but the steps are the same.

It shows the cards were dealt as committed. It says nothing about whether other players are working together, or whether one account is helped by a bot or by software outside the room's view.

It also doesn't show payouts. A room can deal a clean deck and still delay or refuse a withdrawal. That is why trust is our heaviest weight at 25%, and why Proof-of-Reserves and a track record of paying matter as much as the shuffle.

Finally, a label doesn't mean the check is easy. If a room gives you no hand history, as Stake Poker's data indicates, you can't replay what you were dealt.

Each room gets a score out of 10 from five areas. For this page, trust is the one that counts: we look at whether the shuffle is documented, whether the licence is real and whether the room pays.
